Start today, don' t delay. Plan your future, find your way. Tomorrow' s promise in your hands. Lay your path across this land. Welcome to week six of our series, where we explore the profound concepts of legacy and ethical stewardship from a faith-based perspective. Today,
we draw wisdom from Deuteronomy 6:5-7 and 2
Timothy 4:7-8, scriptures that inspire us to pass down a legacy that honors our faith and ethical convictions. Today, we discuss the critical role of imparting values and ethical practices to our children. Just as Deuteronomy instructs us to teach our children diligently, we explore how integrating these teachings into everyday life ensures that ethical stewardship becomes a cornerstone of their existence. We delve into recent times, findings by Choi and Carr, 2023, who studied how relational histories influence decisions in estate planning. Their research highlights the importance of relationships in shaping the approaches to distributing one' s legacy, stressing that our interactions and bonds significantly impact our legacy planning. Next, we examine how the trans-theoretical model of change detailed by Cortuch et al. in 2021 can be applied to legacy planning. This model, which assesses readiness for change, helps individuals and families to establish a meaningful legacy, ensuring their values align with their actions. Our discussion focuses on finishing well. We reflect on 2 Timothy chapter 4, verses 7 to 8, where Paul talks about finishing the race and keeping the faith, an apt metaphor for our journey to leave a lasting, impactful legacy. We' ll explore how to ensure that the legacies we leave reflect our deepest faith and ethical convictions, impacting generations, and future generations. As we wrap up today' s session, let S commit to stewards of what we have been entrusted with, not just in material wealth, but in fostering enduring values. Let this be a call to action to live and plan in ways that will resonate long after we are gone, cementing a legacy of faith and ethical stewardship. Thank you for joining us through Legacy and Ethical Stewardship. May you be inspired to make choices honoring your faith and commitment to future generations.
